While Dragon, who has settled down with Marcy and Angel, laments a return to crimefighting, Sgt. Marvel surmises that a recent rash of suicides is the work of Simon Kane. SOS attempts to persuade Dragon into re-joining to help them track down Kane... but Kane, who is revealed to be the surgically-altered freak on a crusade to rid the world of evil, captures Dragon first and reveals to him that he caused the suicides to please him. Dragon expresses his disgust - and Kane commits suicide. Afterwards, Dragon decides to return to SOS - which causes Marcy to leave him.
