In this reprint of Megaton #2 (1982), Vanguard, alien protector of Earth, explains himself to reporter Roxanne Wells, and is then attacked by famed costumed adventurer Mighty Man, due to a misunderstanding. Mighty Man is rendered comatose due to the battle, which sends a vengeful Paul Dragon after Vanguard.

In a second, back-up story reprinting Megaton #3 (1982), while grocery shopping on Earth, Vanguard is attacked and captured by Paul Dragon. Vanguard's new girlfriend Roxanne and his assistant Wally embark on a rescue mission...

These stories do not take place within regular Savage Dragon continuity.
