During the battle against the aliens, Freak Force fails to act cohesively as a team as Mr. Big and Hornet are both killed, and Horridus almost single-handedly defeats the entire alien squadron unintentionally, who then escape back into space. Vanguard surmises that Horidus is an extra-terrestrial, and Dart resigns as leader of Freak Force.
