After once again defeating and capturing the escaped Lurch, Vanguard defeats Modem, who is trying to escape from the satellite she is trapped in. After Vanguard is introduced to Roxanne Wells' parents, who don's approve of the relationship, an alien arrives on Earth, apparently destroying a NASA shuttle in the process, and attacks Vanguard.
